A friendly club for pilots of all experience

Arizona City Flyers brings together RC enthusiasts who love airplanes — and often helicopters and drones too — for field flying, hangar talk, and community. Whether you are building your first trainer or polishing a scale warbird, you will find open skies and open doors.

We are AMA club #5493 in the Arizona City / Eloy area. Guest pilots are welcome; AMA membership is required for flying at the field.

How to join or renew

  1. Get AMA coverage — Current Academy of Model Aeronautics membership is required to fly at the field. Guest pilots are welcome with AMA.
  2. Pay fees — New members: $50 one-time + $50 annual membership ($100 first year). Renewing members: $50/year. Use Stripe when available, or pay an officer.
  3. Introduce yourself — Reach out via contact info below or meet us at the field for orientation.
  4. Fly safe — Review club rules and the AMA Safety Code before your first flights.

Fly safe

Safety & AMA

Safe flying keeps the hobby open for everyone. Arizona City Flyers follows common-sense field rules: know your aircraft, respect the flight line, yield to full-scale traffic, and never fly over people or roads beyond club guidelines.

AMA membership is required for flying at the club field. The Academy of Model Aeronautics provides liability insurance, a safety code, and resources for clubs and pilots. Guest pilots are welcome when they hold current AMA membership and follow field rules.

  • Perform preflight checks — control surfaces, battery, failsafe
  • Stay hydrated and sun-safe in desert conditions

At the field

Club rules

High-level expectations — replace with your official written rules as needed.

  1. 1 AMA required

    Only current AMA members may fly. Guests with AMA are welcome; introduce yourself to a club member.

  2. 2 Flight line discipline

  3. 3 Frequency & equipment

    [Editable] Use 2.4 GHz best practices; announce intentions; secure props when people are nearby.

  4. 4 Shared airspace

    Yield to full-scale aircraft. Stay within club boundaries and altitude expectations for the field.

  5. 5 Courtesy & environment

    Pack out trash, respect neighbors, and help new pilots. No alcohol while operating aircraft.

  6. 6 Spotters & first flights
